Jesus and Kavanah
Jesus & Kavanah Collection
What did disciplemaking look like before it became a program?
The Jesus & Kavanah Collection from Cadre Missionaries invites us to recover disciplemaking as a way of life—an aimed, attentive life with God that naturally overflows into relationships with others. These books explore the relational, spiritual, and teaching rhythms of Jesus and help ordinary followers of Jesus practice them in ordinary life.
Rather than beginning with methods, the collection begins with Jesus Himself: how He loved His Father, paid attention to the Holy Spirit, walked with His friends, taught along the road and around tables, withdrew to pray, lived the Scriptures, and formed disciples through shared life.
The collection includes:
- The Disciplemaking Genius of Jesus — Discover the relational genius behind the way Jesus made disciples and consider what His way of life means for us today.
- Every Heart Drifts — Explore the biblical idea of kavanah: living with an aimed heart that continually returns its attention and affection toward God.
- The Life Between the Miracles — Look beyond the spectacular moments of Jesus’ ministry to the ordinary life His disciples experienced between them—the roads, meals, conversations, questions, friendships, prayer, Scripture, and life together where formation happened.
- Paying Attention to God Together — Recover haver: friends gathering around Scripture, listening to God and one another, and learning together in mutual disciplemaking friendship.
- Walk With Jesus: Then and Now — A visual journey that helps us imagine walking beside Jesus in His first-century world while asking what following Him looks like in ours.
- Getaway Like Jesus — Rediscover Jesus’ rhythms of withdrawing, praying, resting, listening, and returning to life and ministry attentive to His Father.
- The Disciplemaker’s Living Guide — A practical collection of adventures designed to help disciplemaking move from something we understand to a way of life we actually practice.
- The Teaching Genius of Jesus — Explore how Jesus taught—not simply what He taught—and recover His relational, participatory, life-connected approach to helping people learn.
Together, these books share a simple conviction:
Jesus did not give His disciples merely a method to reproduce. They received a life to share.
Whether you read one book or journey through the entire collection, our hope is that these resources help you love Jesus, pay attention to God, cultivate disciplemaking friendships, and increasingly discover that all of life is the classroom.
